For people in genuine financial need with a commitment to engaging in therapy. If you need support, please read the FAQ below and contact us.

Do you have rebates for people with private health insurance or Medicare Mental Health Care plans?

Yes, as an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Bri Stevens can provide Medicare rebates for people with a Mental Health Treatment Plan which lets you claim up to 10 individual sessions with a mental health professional each calendar year. To start with, you need to see your GP who will refer you for up to 6 sessions at a time.

Most private health funds offer rebates for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers and Occupational Therapists. Please ensure to check with your health fund before your appointment.

Do you offer reduced fees for financial hardship?

Please contact us if you or someone you know needs support to pay for therapy. We know it is hard to access mental health care and we do what we can to contribute back to our community by offering a limited number of Hardship Arrangement Places with a discounted session fee. These places are for people in genuine financial hardship who are committed to engaging in therapeutic change and willing to access a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan if eligible. If we don’t have any Hardship Arrangement places available, we can refer you to a not-for-profit community provider or a clinician who might offer low or no gap medicare appointments.

How often should I book appointments?

Everyone’s circumstances are unique and you know what will work best for you. Our calendars fill very quickly, so you might want to book a few appointments in advance. Most people initially choose weekly or fortnightly counselling appointments. Our OT doesn’t currently offer ongoing therapy and is typically booked up 2-3 months in advance.

Are you a registered provider of NDIS supports?

Yes, Reravel is a registered NDIS provider for therapy supports – we can support National Disability Insurance Scheme participants who are agency managed as well as plan managed and self managed.

Do you work directly with children and young people?

Yes, we do work with children and young people. We have a 3 session assessment stage involving parents/caregivers and the young person to build relationships, establish their needs and recommend the best therapeutic intervention going forward.

Do you help adults too?

Yes, most of our clients are adults. We have a lot of experience supporting adults from all walks of life, and all stages of life too.

Are you only for LGBTQIA+ people?

No, Reravel is also here for cisgender and heterosexual people, teens and adults who are questioning their gender and/or sexuality, family members, friends and allies of queer and gender diverse folk, and people who don’t feel their gender or sexuality identity is a big part of their life.

Do you offer home visits?

Sometimes. We’re trying to avoid the risk of transmitting COVID between households, protecting people with complex health conditions that we support and care for. However, we will visit when we need to be physically present in your home (like measuring up for assistive technology).

How does online therapy and Telehealth therapy work?

Our Telehealth appointments are video calls using a password-protected ‘Zoom room’. We send you the link beforehand, and you can click on it from your phone, tablet or computer and connect with your therapist. If you prefer to connect on the phone or through text-only messaging, please let us know and we will make arrangements.

Can your Occupational Therapist see my child weekly/fortnightly?

No, unfortunately, it is very hard for people to find OTs at the moment with long wait lists so Julie is prioritising assessments and reports over ongoing therapy so that she can help as many people as possible.

Can you diagnose me/my child with…?

No, we do not offer diagnostic services, however we are happy to work with you to explore your own neurodivergence using recognised assessment tools. Sometimes it is enough to know and understand yourself more. If you need a formal diagnosis to access services or accommodations, we can help by providing information and reports with your consent that will support a formal diagnosis through by a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.

Can you help with assessments and reports for NDIS?

Yes, this is our OT’s area of specialty. Julie Parry achieves strong outcomes for participants because she keeps up to date and ensures she understands what the NDIA requires. All reports include assessment findings, recommendations and detailed costings.

Will you write a report for my AAT NDIS tribunal hearing?

Sometimes. If we have an ongoing therapy relationship with you, we will always try to help with your NDIS reports, including for AAT. If you are a new client, it will depend on our availability and whether we feel we can offer an expert specialist assessment, recommendations and opinion for your unique circumstances based on our experience and qualifications.

Can you write recommendations for gender affirming healthcare?

We do not provide surgical readiness referral letters, but can refer you to a safe and qualified professional who can support you through this part of your journey. For other gender affirming healthcare (e.g. hormones), we work alongside healthcare providers under an informed consent model of care, which means that you collaborate directly with your doctors to make decisions about your care. From time to time, your doctors might contact us or you might ask us to write a letter to your doctors, and we are always happy to help with this with your consent.

Will you write a court report?

No, we do not offer this service. If you need a letter for family law or another court, we are not able to help you.

Do you have the appropriate qualifications, registrations and licences for providing therapy?

Yes, our therapists are all allied health professionals who maintain professional registration – this means we all have university qualifications, professional supervision, ongoing training and are accountable to our registration body to keep our registration.

Our team all have mandatory worker screening checks to assess that we are safe to work with children and people with disabilities. Reravel is a registered provider with NDIS which means that we have had to demonstrate to auditors and the Quality and Safeguard commission that we will uphold standards, processes, and procedures that ensure we provide a quality service.

Please ask us at any time if you would like proof of our worker screening checks, our registration as allied health professionals, qualifications or NDIS registered provider status.
