Specialists support for LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and disabled communities
It can be hard to ask for support or connect with a new therapist, especially if you haven’t always had positive experiences of health professionals. We support people from a range of backgrounds and pride ourselves in being accepting and inclusive. We specialise in working with Queer, trans, and gender diverse communities, and disabled and neurodivergent young people and adults. If you haven’t always had positive experiences with health professionals, we want to change that.
- Queerness, sexuality, gender, and neuroqueer experiences
- ADHD, autism, and neurodivergence
- Complex disability support needs, including chronic illness, burnout, trauma, and co-occurring physical and cognitive disabilities
- Diverse relationships: neurodiverse couples and families, polyamorous and ENM relationships, kink relationship structures, caregiving relationships
- Religious trauma and family trauma related to high-control environments, coming out, stigma, and discrimination
- Caregiving experiences, including parenting, intra-partner caring, support work, and chronic illness
- Practitioners and allied health professionals from LGBTQIA+, disability, and neurodiversity communities
Person-centred care
Reravel are an experienced team who have worked with a wide range of people over the years, and we are highly person-centred in our approach to your care. We spend time understanding you and what matters to you. Sometimes it takes time to get to know one another, and our work together can unfold over time. We check in regularly to make sure what we’re doing is actually helping.
Neuroqueer-centred practice
We are inclusive, open-minded, non-judgemental, and supportive of your identities, sexuality, relationships, and family structures. We are committed to neurodiversity-affirming and gender-affirming practices. We are always learning more and expanding our understanding of people’s lives.
Care beyond the therapy room
When we support you or your loved ones, we think it’s really important that therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum, outside of the people and pets, places and experiences and passions of your daily life. So we’ll want to know about these things and if you need more support and more connection in your life, we want to help you find that through our networks and community connections.
How we work with young people
When we support young people, we don’t just see them for an hour and send them back to their families and regular lives – we know that friends, families, activities, and schools are really important for children and teens. We don’t do drop-off therapy with kids. Depending on your child’s age, we might work with you as parents through joint sessions, separate parent support sessions, or scheduled family check-ins. For older teens, we’ll talk together at the outset about how we’ll stay connected with parents, school, or other supports.
