Bri Briannon Stevens Social Worker Therapist Queer Neurodivergent
Bri Stevens is a professional, registered social worker offering counselling, therapy and family support services at reravel.

Bri Stevens (they/she) Social Worker

I called our therapy practice Reravel because I truly enjoy connecting with people and helping them to ‘reravel’ their lives when things feel like they’ve come undone and unravelled. When I’m supporting you, I always start with the assumption that you are the expert in your life, and that I am here to listen, provide some insights, and help you draw on your own strengths, values and life experiences to solve problems. When we first meet, I’ll ask how you want me to support you and what your goals are from therapy, and then we can talk together about the best ways that I can help you and/or your family.

I’m a Social Worker with Master of Counselling Social Work (Honours with excellence), a Bachelor of Social Work and a Bachelor of Biomedical Science. I recently compelted a thesis about neuroqueering and I’m passionate about staying updated with the latest research and also community wisdom that hasn’t (yet) made it into academic writing. I’m registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH). Most of my counselling work is currently with adults and young people who are queer, trans and neurodivergent or disabled. With more than 20 years experience, I’ve supported refugees, young parents, families experiencing homelessness, people with addictions and complex trauma, and people with disabilities.

I enjoy working with people of all ages – I respect the insight and enthusiasm of young people, and the wisdom and life experience of my adult clients. When I support children, I also work with their parents.

I’m Queer and neurodivergent myself, and I’m deeply committed to working within and supporting the disability and LGBTQIAP+ communities that I’m part of. As a parent to three wonderful humans, and a carer for people with disabilities, I also have firsthand experiences of the challenges and pressures facing families and carers.

Some fun facts about me: I’m a fan of Star Trek, crocheting amigurumi, reading young adult fiction and binge watching cheesy movies. My favourite food is Mexican and I love the stimulation of travelling to new places.

If you think I might be able to help you or someone you care about, please do get in touch, I’ll be happy to connect with you.

Julie Parry is an Occupational Therapist offering assessments and reports at reravel

Julie Parry (she/her) Occupational Therapist

I’ve worked as an Occupational Therapist for 16 years now, and have experience helping people with physical and psychosocial disabilities, complex health conditions, and significant trauma.

I have a Masters of Occupational Therapy Studies, and a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Hearing and Speech). I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a member of the Australian Professional Association for Trans Health (AusPATH).

At Reravel, I help people with the OT assessments and reports that they need, mostly for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. I know it’s hard for people with disabilities having to constantly tell new health professionals about themselves, so I try to keep the assessments as respectful and brief as possible, while preparing the detailed clinical reports that the NDIS needs for decision making. If you consent, I can also talk to family members, carers or other health professionals to gain information that I need.

I stay well networked and up to date with the constant changes with the National Disability Insurance Scheme and so I pride myself on assessments and reports that help my clients access the housing, assistive technology and supports that they need within the parameters of the NDIS, including Functional Capacity Assessments.

I have personal experience of being in the minority and so I am welcoming and inclusive of all of my clients – I’m a gay woman, parent to happy homeschooled kids, and ally and carer of people with disabilities and trans young people.

Some fun facts about me: I believe that Chocolate should be its own food group and eaten regularly. I relax by cuddling my dogs, playing with my kids and gaming on my Switch. I’ve recently spent a year caravanning around Australia!

If you have any more questions about my knowledge, skills or experience, or would like me to help you with an assessment or report, please get in touch.
