What therapy at Reravel costs
Reravel publishes its fees in full so that you can work out what therapy will cost before you book. You may also be eligible for rebates from Medicare and Private Health Cover, and we are a registered provider for NDIS supports.
Reravel sees clients in-room at Suite 2A, 2–4 Flinders Parade, North Lakes, Queensland, and by telehealth anywhere in Australia.
Session fees
Every fee below is for a 50-minute session. What you pay depends on which service you are booking and which practitioner you are seeing.

Extended appointments are $60 for each additional 30 minutes. Relationships therapy initial appointments are always 80 minutes so will attract the extended appointment fee. You can arrange a longer appointment for individual therapy when you book.
Sessions after 5pm and on weekends have a $20 after-hours fee. This is to enable us to pay our employees fairly for working outside of business hours.
Letters, reports, communications and resource preparation are charged in 15-minute blocks. This is work completed outside your session: a letter to your GP, a report for a funder, correspondence with someone else in your care team, or a resource put together specifically for you. If you are not sure what a particular piece of work would involve, ask your therapist and they can talk you through it.
Fees are reviewed every six months. The figures on this page are current as at 1 July 2026.
Medicare rebates
Some of the services at Reravel attract a Medicare rebate – including with Psychologists, Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists.
- For mental health appointments with our social workers and psychologists, please see your GP before your appointment for a referral under a Mental health Treatment Plan. Rebates are currently $89.50. Our counsellors are not eligible for Medicare rebates, however they are eligible for private health rebates.
- For OT appointments, please see your GP before your appointment for a referral under a Chronic Condition Management Plan. Rebates are currently $63.40
Fees are paid in full and the rebate is claimed afterwards. If you pay your invoice on the day of your appointment, Reravel processes the Medicare rebate for you that day and it goes to the bank account you have registered with Medicare. If the invoice is not paid on the day, you will need to claim the rebate yourself through Medicare.
Relationships and couples therapy, counselling with PACFA and ACA-registered counsellors, and art therapy do not attract a Medicare rebate. These sessions are paid for privately.

Private Health Fund rebates
Some private health funds pay a rebate for counselling and for couples counselling. It varies by fund and by the particular policy, so Reravel cannot tell you what yours covers. Check with your own fund before you book, and contact us if you would like information about our counsellors’ registration or provider numbers.
Reravel does not claim directly with private health funds. You pay the fee and Reravel gives you an invoice, and you send that to your fund to claim back whatever your policy allows.
NDIS, WorkCover and other third-party funding
Reravel is a registered NDIS provider and supports self-managed, plan-managed and agency-managed participants. Services are typically billed under Capacity Building Improved Daily Living.

Rates for NDIS, WorkCover and other third-party funders change regularly. Rather than publish a figure here that may well be out of date by the time you read it, please contact Reravel and someone will give you the current rate for your funding type.
Cancellations and payment
Reravel asks for notice if you need to change or cancel an appointment. Late cancellations and missed appointments are charged at the full session fee, and a cancelled appointment cannot be claimed for a Medicare rebate because the session did not take place.

Questions people ask Reravel about fees
How does the Medicare rebate work, and when do I get it?
The rebate is money Medicare pays back to you after your appointment, rather than a discount taken off the fee on the day. You pay Reravel the full session fee, the claim is processed, and the rebate goes into the bank account you have registered with Medicare. If you pay your invoice on the day of your appointment, Reravel processes the rebate for you that day. If the invoice is not paid on the day, you claim it yourself through Medicare, either in the MyGov app or at a service centre.
Do I need a referral?
It depends on which service you are booking. Relationships therapy, counselling and art therapy do not need a referral, and you can book directly. Individual therapy with psychologists or social workers does not need a referral either, but if you want the Medicare rebate you need a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral from your GP in place before your first session. Occupational therapy with Julie Parry can be booked privately, and the Medicare rebate requires a chronic condition management plan and referral prepared by your GP first.
Will my private health fund cover this?
Some funds pay a rebate for couples counselling and some do not, and it varies by policy as much as by fund. Reravel cannot tell you what yours covers, so check with your fund before you book and ask specifically about couples or relationship counselling rather than general mental health cover. Reravel does not claim directly with private health funds, so you will be given an invoice to send to your fund yourself.
Why is there no Medicare rebate for couples therapy?
Medicare’s mental health items fund treatment for one named person under their own treatment plan. Relationship and couples work is about what happens between people rather than inside one of them, so there is no item number that fits it. This is a feature of how Medicare is built and not a comment on how serious or useful the work is. If it would help, either partner can see one of our therapists individually with a Mental Health Treatment Plan, and those individual sessions do attract a rebate. Some couples run that alongside their joint sessions.
What does an extended appointment cost, and does the rebate change?
An extended appointment is $60 for each additional 30 minutes, on top of the session fee for that service. The Medicare rebate does not change. It is a fixed amount attached to the item number, so a longer appointment costs more and the rebate stays exactly where it is. The same is true of the after-hours fee.
How often do fees change?
Reravel reviews its fees every six months, and the date under the fee table tells you when the figures on this page were set. Medicare rebate amounts are a separate thing. They are set by the Australian Government rather than by Reravel and change on their own schedule, which is why they are dated separately.
